ITEM DESCRIPTION

This fine double is 12Ga. 29 barreled shotgun. The barrels have fantastic Damascus pattern that although is browning slightly but shows such a beautiful pattern that it is very hard to describe. The rib of the barrels are marked L. Manton & Son, Dover Street, London. The lock on the gun is marked Lawrence Strood on both side plates.  The hammers are engraved fish with open mouths firing the percussion caps. The hammer arms are floral engraved as are the side plates. There are two small German silver inlays on either side of the locks. The large screws are also engraved on the locks. As are the hammer screw pins. The only flaw on the gun is that there is a crack behind the hammer on the top of the side plate that was repaired at some point. This is a fine English early shotgun worthy of any collection. NSN ANTIQUE NO FFL REQUIRED
