Stevens made their Model 56 “Buckhorn” bolt action .22 rifle from 1935 to 1948. This specimen still has its factory box with the label identifying the model along with a drawing of Frank Buck, the noted big game hunter of the 1930s and 1940s for whom, we assume, the rifle was named. The gun looks like it has seen use, with blue wear on the receiver, magazine, and other areas and the finish flaking on the wood. The bore is bright and shiny and the gun functions properly in dry operation. The factory cardboard box shows heavy scuffing and soiling, but it is still structurally sound and the label is fully legible. The gun is not serial numbered. FFL required.
