Antique Belgian Lefaucheux 9mm Pinfire Revolver, 6 Shot, Engraved, Circa 1870. Serial number 95309. No FFL Required.
4-3/4" round barrel. Barrel is marked E. Lefaucheux Invr. Brevete on left side flat just in front of the cylinder. Below that is a V under a crown stamp. On the left side of the frame is stamped the serial number 95309. On the cylinder is the ELG over a star within an oval (which is the Belgian marking) with a V under a crown under that. On the other side of the cylinder is an EL under a crown stamping. there is an EL under a crown stamping on the underside of the barrel. Folding trigger, no triggerguard.
The frame, cylinder, and grip backstrap are very nicely hand engraved with a leaf pattern. Checkered walnut grips that also have a carved leaf pattern at the top. Grip retains about 50% of the original finish. Grips have some light scratches and dings but no cracks or chips. The loading gate is tight and the release button for the gate functions perfectly. There is a lanyard loop mounted on the bottom of the grip.
All the metal parts are gray with some dark spotting on the barrel and some minor pitting on the barrel. The underside of the frame and the trigger have some dark spotting and there is some pitting on the trigger. The hammer spring is strong but the half cock and full cock stops do not function. The trigger and hammer will function in double action only. Needs some internal spring or sear work.
Very nice Lefaucheux for any collection. Condition Very Good. No FFL Required.
