Antique Belgian Style Flobert Parlor Rifle, .32 Caliber, No Markings, Original, Circa 1870 - 1880. 24" heavy octagonal barrel, single shot. Bore is dark. Blade front sight and open dovetail rear sight. Flobert style breech, missing one screw on the left side. Iron hammer and trigger. barrel, hammer, and trigger all have very dark gray almost black patina. Brass trigger guard with a depp mellow patina. the rear of the trigger guard loop is split. Fancy gutta percha buttplate is checkered and has a woodland bird scene, but unfortunately the buttplate is showing its age badly with some cracks, worm holes, and a lot of heavy wear. Walnut stock is very dark color and has checkering at the pistol grip and on the forearm area. the checkering does show a lot of wear and use. The stock has the expected scratches and dings, with a crack on both side of the stock from the breech forward for 2" - 2-1/2". Still a nice representative flobert style single shot rifle in the Belgian style. Condition Good. | | |
