Lot Of American Legion Medals & Service Stars, Enameled, Pinback & Screwback. Lot includes:
1 - American Legion Auxiliary medal with ribbon, "For Excellence In" with a blank plaque for engraving. The medal is bronze with a separately applied enameled American Legion Auxiliary emblem superimposed over the front. Red, white, and blue ribbon with a WWII style roller safety catch pinback on the reverse. The medal is marked Balfour. Nice medal in excellent shape with only a minor bit of soiling to the ribbon. The enamel is perfect.
1 - Sons Of The American Legion Second Lieutenant enameled medal with ribbon. The medal is bronze with blue color enamel around the perimeter. Red, white, and blue ribbon with a WWII style roller safety catch pinback on the reverse. At the top of the ribbon is a blue enameled bar that has "Second Lieutenant". The medal has a Patent number and maker logo on the reverse. Nice medal is very good condition with the ribbon being somewhat faded and some spotting to the bronze colored finish of the enameled bar at the top of the ribbon. The enamel is perfect.
4 - gold colored 5-pointed service stars, all screwback. All are unmarked, and 2 of the screwbacks are missing. One star is mounted onto a small round piece of gray colored felt. All stars are in excellent condition.
1 - WWII Sweetheart style double pinback from a school or sorority. One end of the pin is a small shield shaped white and blue enameled pinback with "Fremont", which is connected by a 2" long very tiny chain to a very small pinback "38". The pinbacks are both the roller safety catch type. No markings. The enamel is in decent shape with no cracks or chips.
