J.P. Sauer & Son Model 38H Pistol, 3rd Variation, Caliber 7.65mm, With 2 Magazines & Leather Holster. Serial Number 349855. FFL or C&R Required.
3-1/4" barrel, with excellent bore that is bright and shiny. Blued finish at about 80%, with some light scratches and dings. The front and back grip straps are gray. This is the third variation and late war production which was simplified for quicker, cheaper production and this meant simpler markings, rough finish, and the elimination of features like the slide-mounted safety and cocking/decocking lever. The left side of the slide is marked simply CAL. 7,65. The serial number is stamped into the right side of the frame at the rear and under the edge of the slide. Checkered black Bakelite grips both with some light scratches and dings, and the left grip has the SuS logo. Grips have no cracks or chips. Blued 7 round magazines, both unmarked. Brown leather military styel holster with the full front flap and pocket for spare magazine. Holster is marked on the front under the flap Schambach & Co. Berlin 1942, and has the number 987 stamped into the back. The letters LDS are scratched into the back. Single wide belt loop on the back of the holster. Leather still very supple and has some wear and a bit of age crazing at the top of the flap and along the right side. The stitching is a bit weak on the holster.
Nice rig. Condition Very Good Plus. FFL or C&R Required.
