Here is a very nice Coca-Cola airline cooler, which Petretti shows as dating from the 1940s-1950s. This cooler is in overall very good condition. It is all original, complete with the original bottle opener affixed on one end. Nothing has been done to it. This cooler is 12 inches tall x 17 inches long x 6 inches deep (not counting the bottle opener). It weighs approximately 12 pounds. Coke apparently made airline coolers in several sizes. This is one of the smaller ones. This cooler has very minor shallow dings and bumps and light scratches pretty much overall but no serious dents or damage. The paint is all original, in very good condition. The inside is exceptionally clean and there is no rust either inside or outside. The stainless steel liner is brilliant and shines like a mirror. "Drink Coca-Cola" is embossed on both sides and also on the bottle opener on the end. Most of the white paint on the "DRINK COCA-COLA" side logo is present. The bottle opener is excellent with red lettering in very good condition, and it works perfectly. The back hinges are intact, work fine and are not rusty. All the sheet metal screws everywhere on the cooler are tight and intact. The two metal clamp fasteners on the front are in correct near perfect original condition. Although the standard picnic coolers are fairly common, it is difficult to find them in good condition. Here is a much harder to find airline style that will display well in any collection.
