Ithaca made their Western Arms Corp. double barrel box lock action shotguns from 1929 to 1946. This 12 gauge specimen is marked Western Arms Corp. Long Range Gun. It has 28" barrels and double triggers. The left barrel flat is marked with a number 4, the right with a number 2 preceded by a triangle. One side of the barrel flat and receiver flat, as well as flat part of the forend metal, had some unknown writing, numbers, or marks that were removed by lightly grinding them off. Lockup is solid and tight and the gun works well in dry firing. The bores are bright and shiny. The metal has a blue/gray patina. Most of the screw heads are burred. The wood shows scratches and dings, but it is solid and without cracks or other structural problems. This is a nice side by side shotgun in decent shape from a classic American gun maker. No serial number. An FFL is required for purchase.
