<head></head><body><p>Stevens Model 311A Double Barrel 12 Gauge Shotgun, Boxlock Hammerless, Double Triggers, Used.&nbsp; Serial Number 295058.&nbsp; FFL Required.&nbsp; This model of shotgun was discontinued in 1989.</p> <p>25-3/4" round blued side X side barrels, chambered for 2-3/4" shells.&nbsp; The left barrel is marked on the top near the breech:&nbsp; Proof Tested 12 Gauge 2-3/4 inch Chamber.&nbsp; The top of the right barrels is marked:&nbsp; Selected Forged Steel.&nbsp; Color case hardened receiver.&nbsp; Blued thumb release, triggers, and trigger guard.&nbsp; The buttplate is a JosTam Hy-Gun recoil-Pad, which is a reddish colored rubber.&nbsp; Walnut buttstock and forearm, both being checkered.&nbsp; The buttstock has a semi-pistol grip.&nbsp; 42-1/2" overall length.&nbsp; The bores are both fairly bright, with a tiny bit of light pitting near the breech in the left bore.&nbsp; The bluing on the barrels is nearly 100% intact with some slight nicks to the finish and some light surface rust on the tops and sides of the barrels.&nbsp; The case hardeneing color is at about 40-50%, with some light surface rust on the bottom of the receiver.&nbsp; The finish on the forearm is 100% remaining and is about 92% or better remaining on the buttstock.&nbsp; The checkering is crisp,&nbsp;but has some damage on the right pistol grip.&nbsp; The forearm has some light scratches.&nbsp; The buttstock has some scratches and dings, with a small chip out of the bottom edge of the pistol grip, and there is a hairline crack on either side of the buttstock just behind the receiver (one is 1" long and the other is 1-1/2" long).&nbsp; The breakdown action is tight and crisp, and the barrels fit snugly onto the receiver.&nbsp; There is a sliding safety just behind the thumb release on the top of the wrist.</p> <p>According to information regarding Stevens Model 311A shotguns, no serial number was required until the Gun Control Act Of 1968.&nbsp; Before then the year of manufacture was determined by a letter and number in a circle located on the top of the receiver flat.&nbsp; This shotgun has an A in a circle and an E in a circle, but no number within either circle.&nbsp; The serial number 295058 is is pen engraved onto the underside of the right barrel, and&nbsp;again on the bottom of the receiver.&nbsp; </p> <p>When disassembling this shotgun care needs to be taken, as there is a small part which fits between the forearm and the receiver, and which sets adjacent to the hinge pin, which will fall onto the floor and easily be lost.&nbsp;&nbsp;It does not permanently attach anywhere and does not appear that it ever did.&nbsp; Just so you know.</p> <p>Condition Very Good Plus.&nbsp;</p></body></html>
