<head></head><body><p>WWI US LF&C Model 1917 Trench Knife, Triangular Blade, With Scabbard, Original. This is the "knuckle-duster" style of trench knife with the pyramidal knobs on the D-guard (there are 7 knobs including the one on the pommel). Manufactured by Landers Frary & Clarke, of New Britain, Connecticut. Blade retains about 60% of the original blued finish and the very tip of the point has a small flat. The D-guard retains about 40-50% of the original black painted finish, and has old surface rust here and there but mostly on the underside. Original wood grip is tight to the tang and has a few light dings on the top side next to the pommel and one small chip on the top right side next to the pommel. Original leather scabbard with metal tip and throat, missing the belt hook. The leather was originally green but has now turned a brownish-black and shows use and wear. The leather is still supple and the stitching sound. The metal tips are patinaed out and have old surface rust. The top of the throat is marked HE. The throat and tip are both marked M6. Knife fits snugly into the scabbard. Nice honest example of this ever more difficult to find knife. Condition Very Good Minus. </p></body></html>
